Activist Calls on Community to Help Fix School Problems

One community activist is calling for change in the Savannah-Chatham County public school system. On the steps of the board of education, Chester Dunham told a small group that the community needs to get involved in electing a new school superintendent, improving student performance and dealing with issues like redistricting.

Dunham says he's not against the board of education, but he does want the community to help fix it. "I'm not angry with the school board nor the district. What we're saying is we have some problems and we as a community have to work on these problems together."

A town hall meeting is this Saturday from 10am to noon at the Delaware Community Center on Lincoln and 35th Streets.
