STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) -

Hundreds laced up their walking shoes Friday night in Statesboro to help a community fight cancer.

Bulloch County came together to raise money through the annual Relay for Life. They're walking all night long to support the American Cancer Society.

Local schools, churches and other groups use the night of friendly competition to remember cancer victims and celebrate survivors, all while raising money for the fight.

“For me, as a cancer survivor, and with some many loved ones lost to cancer, the almost $12,000 I raised I want to help give cancer the boot. I want to help end cancer,” said Lori Wiggins, cancer survivor.

Plenty of good sports took pies to the face - anything to raise money. They hope to have raised $106,000 by Saturday morning.
