Metro investigates shooting on Burroughs St.

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Savannah-Chatham Metro Police are investigating after responding to a shooting on West 38th and Burroughs streets early Sunday morning, which left 19-year-old Nigeria Hutcherson injured.

Metro and EMS responded to the scene at around 1:40 a.m. to find Hutcherson with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Police say Hutcherson was reportedly speaking to a relative outside when at least two female subjects approached, and opened fire after a brief verbal dispute.

The suspects may have headed south on Burroughs Street.

Investigators do not believe this crime is a random act and are following leads to identify suspects.
