Winn Army Hospital commander relieved of duties following investigation

FORT STEWART (WTOC) -

An internal investigation has led to the commander of Winn Army Community Hospital at Fort Stewart being relieved of duties.  Col. Patrick Ahearne had been temporary under suspension since April 20.

In a news release Monday, the Army said that the matter that led to Ahearne being relieved of his duties did not have an adverse impact on patient care and reiterated that they Army is committed to providing the best medical care to soldiers, retirees and their families.

Interim commander, Col. Joseph K. (JK) Weaver, will continue to serve in the role until a new commander is selected. He is the commander of Tuttle Army Health Clinic at Hunter Army Air field.
