Burger King Employee Arrested in Safe Theft

A Burger King employee who told police he was duct tapped to a chair during a robbery has been arrested in connection with the crime.

Rantrishus Wigfall, 19, is charged with armed robbery and filing a false police report.

Detectives say Wigfall and several other men stole the safe from the Burger King on Abercorn Street and Mercy Boulevard on Monday. They took it to Effingham County, and when they couldn't get it open they called a locksmith to help. The locksmith got suspicious and called police.
