Lawyers, Guns and Money Sporting Clay Fundraiser 2016

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Folks in Savannah went out sport shooting for a good cause Friday.

It was the 4th Annual Lawyers, Guns and Money Sporting Clays Tournament to benefit the American Diabetes Association.

More than 120 shooters were at Forest City Gun Club having a good time and raising money for the American Diabetes Association's "Kiss-a-Pig" Campaign.
"It helps with research that is crucial in fighting this disease," said Aaron Tillinger, chairman of the American Diabetes Leadership Committee.
The Lawyers, Guns and Money Sporting Clays Tournament is an event that grows every year.

"We've got raffle items.  Thunderbolt guns has been very generous to give us many items for the raffle.  We've got Yetti coolers, pistols, shotguns, and then over here behind us we've got our silent auction," said Tillinger.

"We've got hunts, we've got fishing trips, those are some of our larger ticket items along with some great houses at Tybee Island," said Maria Danello, auction chairman of the Boar Association.
The fun didn't stop there.

"Of course we have the after party.  So, after the shooting's over there's going to be a big party.  It is something that is open to the public for a $25 donation," said Tillinger.

A lot of work goes into this tournament.  In fact, once it wraps up, they start working on next year's event.

"Our team of attorneys from the Boar Association, they have been working tirelessly to make this happen," said Tillinger.

The Boar Association has won the entire Kiss-A-Pig campaign in the past.  That campaign starts in March, wraps up in May, and the winner gets to kiss the pig!
"We're defending champs and so we're really excited about kissing that pig and hope we get to do it again this year," said Danello.

"Lulu. She's a beautiful, little pig and she needs a good kiss," said Tillinger.

The Lawyers, Guns and Money Tournament is the biggest fundraiser for the Kiss-A-Pig Campaign.  Last year, organizers said this particular event raised more than $53,000.  They hope to do even better this year.
