SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The Savannah Bananas are asking for your help.

The team needs host families for its players! The season gets underway in just a few weeks, and players will be here Thursday.

The team is hoping anyone interested in providing a bedroom, access to a bathroom and laundry to open their doors. The players take care of their own food and most will have their own car to travel to and from Greyson Stadium.

As a host family, you will receive two tickets, for every player you host to the games.

"Yeah so our players are almost ready to be here for opening night, so they are on their way from their respective colleges, and we need families in the community who can take these guys in, give them a safe place to stay, give them a bed to sleep on when they're here for the summer-- really make them a part of the community. So yeah. We're looking for a few families that are out there that have a spare bedroom here that would love to take one of these guys in for the summer,” said Savannah Bananas President Jared Orton.

The players would stay with you until August.

Now, if you're interested, or know of a family who might be please contact Lizzy at lizzy@thesavannahbananas.com or by phone at 912.712.2482.
