SAVANNAH, Ga. - Three Armstrong State University softball players earned national honors during the DII Spring Sports Festival in Denver, Colo., last week. Junior first baseman Hannah Reppert and junior pitcher/outfielder Jane Trzaska earned honorable mention D2CCA Softball All-American honors, while both players joined freshman catcher Logan Harrell on the NCAA DII Softball Championships All-Tournament Team.
Reppert hit .379 with 20 home runs and 52 RBI this season to earn honorable mention honors from the D2CCA. The Loganville, Ga., native is just the second Armstrong State player to hit 20 or more home runs in a season and she set the Armstrong State single-season walks (50) and on-base percentage (.558) record in 2016.
Trzaska, meanwhile, hit .323 with four home runs and 26 RBI while going 19-5 in the circle with a 1.99 ERA, winning five straight elimination postseason starts for the Pirates in the DII Super Regionals and DII Championships combined. The Glen Ellyn, Ill., native limited opponents to a .205 batting average this season while hurling five shutouts.
Both players earned At-Large mentions on the DII Softball Championships All-Tournament Team, along with Harrell, who had hits in all five games for the Pirates in Denver on the week to earn a spot on the team as a catcher. The three players are the most Armstrong State has had on the DII Championships All-Tournament Team in program history.
