STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) - Remembering those who gave their all.
In Statesboro Monday, generations gathered at the Emma Kelly Theater for the 10th Annual Memorial Day Program.
The observance this year took on a fresh perspective as they remembered SSgt. Chester McBride, a local airman killed back in December.
Organizers say the ceremony is not just to remember those who gave their lives in the past.
"When we started this, we had only one person representing Afghanistan and Iraq. Now, we're up to eight, and I hope it stays at eight," said Chairman Dan Foglio.
The ceremony also included patriotic music from Dr. Michael Braz of Georgia Southern University.
