McIntosh County: External auditor takes closer look at Cook's spending

MCINTOSH CO., GA (WTOC) - An external auditor will take a closer look at Brett Cook's spending after his sudden resignation as the joint City of Darien-McIntosh County manager last week.

Moore, Stephens, Tiller LLC out of Brunswick began the audit Tuesday.

County Clerk Patrick Zoucks said the audit should take about a week. He also added that they're looking for any possible irregularities.

Last week, McIntosh County Commissioner for District 3 Charles Jordan called for a GBI investigation of county spending to "clear the minds of every citizen of McIntosh County." Jordan did not elaborate further on specific accusations.
