SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A change of command Wednesday at Tuttle Army Health Clinic.
We headed out to Hunter Army Airfield to witness the goodbye to outgoing Commander Colonel J.K. Weaver, and hello to incoming Commander Lieutenant Colonel Michael Tarpey.
Col. Weaver is departing for the Pentagon to serve as Senior Joint Medical Logistics Planner. He says Tuttle will be in great hands and expects big things from the new commander.
"I expect him to fix all of my mistakes. To certainly continue in the same traditions of being the professional officer that I know he is and moving the ball forward. I've known Mike for about ten years and certainly, I couldn't have hand-picked a better replacement," said Col. Weaver.
Lt. Col. Tarpey has been in the Army for over 20 years. He comes to Savannah from Fort Bragg, where he served as officer in charge of the Joel Health Clinic.
"Well, I got big shoes to fill. I'm taking over for one of the best Colonels in the Army, but the Clinic is very well known. It serves units that are really the tip of the spear in the whole U.S. Army," said Lt. Col. Tarpey.
