SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The Savannah Philharmonic and Willett Children's Hospital are coming together for a great cause.

The Magic Flute is designed to provide children in the hospital with musical and comedic joy. The special performances are by members of the Philharmonic Chorus and volunteers from the community.

"Anything that involves putting a smile on a kids face is fantastic. And anything that brings comfort, as music can always do, in a kind of hostile environment like a chemotherapy room, that's, to say that's worth it is putting it lightly. Yeah,” said Savannah Philharmonic Artistic Director Peter Shannon.

The Magic Flute program was started about five years ago. Shannon says about once a month, they come to brighten up the day of kids and their families at the hospital.
