The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a missing 63-year-old man near Brunswick.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Charleston say the search began around 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon when Mr. Charles Johnson's wife reported Mr. Johnson had not returned home from a fishing trip he took on Friday.

Coast Guard crews were launched aboard a 29-foot Response Boat, with Small from Station Brunswick and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Savannah to assist in the initial search.

The aircrew aboard the helicopter was able to locate his unmanned 14-foot boat off Blythe Island.

The search to find Johnson continues to be led by the Coast Guard with assistance from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
