SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The Savannahs Children Choir is leaving Tuesday for their 10th Anniversary Tour in Ireland.

The highlight of the tour will be in New Ross, where the choir will perform on a replica of the ship that brought the original Irish settlers to Savannah. Followed by a welcome home visit to Wexford, the largest percentage of Irish that settled in Savannah.

One of the students going on the trip explained her excitement.

"I'm very blessed because not every child can go places like Ireland, or go on a plane. I've been on a plane multiple times and I've been blessed to travel with this amazing group of people and these teachers and conductors and just be able to perform. So I think that I've gotten more opportunities than I ever would've gotten if I wasn't in Savannah's Children Choir,” said Haile Briggs, 8th grade homeschooler.

The children will perform in Limerick, New Ross, Waterford and Wexford.
