Marine officials relieved of command at Parris Island

PARRIS ISLAND (WTOC) - New details out of Parris Island. We're learning why two Marine officials were recently dismissed.

Tuesday, we told you Colonel Paul Cucinotta was relieved of command. We now know it is in relation to a recruit's death back in March.

He was responsible for recruit training. At the end of March, Cucinotta relieved Lieutenant Colonel Joshua Kissoon.

He was the commanding officer of the Third Recruit Training Battalion.

Nicholas Deabreu was also dismissed. He was the Sergeant Major of that recruit's training regimen.

No foul play is suspected in the recruit's death.
