METTER, GA (WTOC) -

Tropical Storm Colin may be gone, but he left damage behind for one family in Metter.

Jeanie Ellis cares for her wheelchair bound father, Jessie, in a rental home. Monday night’s storm brought down part of a pecan tree on the wheelchair ramp that is his only access in and out of the house. Jeanie says she woke to find the massive tree down. She says the agency who built the ramp will fix it as soon as the tree gets removed.

“It’s very important because it’s the only way to get him out of here to go to the doctor or anywhere. If he has to leave right now, they’ll have to bring him down the front steps and they’ll have to pick him up,” said Jeanie.

Jeanie said the landlord has already sent someone by for estimates to remove the tree. She is glad her father does not have any appointments to leave home for a few days.
