BLOOMINGDALE, GA (WTOC) - The cleanup effort is still underway, but several families are just counting their blessings that they're only dealing with structural damage from downed trees in Bloomingdale.
Folks on Main and Cyprus Streets said the storm and winds came through fast, leaving them little time to prepare for what was left in its wake.
Massive trees draped over houses, some roofs holding up, some not.
One woman on Cyprus Street was trapped in her home for a short time, before rescue crews pulled her to safety.
Another storm victim on Main Street said he had just gotten home from the doctor's office and had sat down on the couch with his wife when he heard a thundering noise and saw his roof start to collapse.
"Yeah, everything is damaged. The whole inside of the house is tore up. There's nothing… parts are scattered everywhere. I don't know what happened, to tell you the truth," Russell Lee said.
