SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Local Red Cross volunteers have returned from Texas after helping with the flooding relief efforts.
Some parts of the state received over 19 inches of rain last month. The 10 volunteers from the South East and Coastal Georgia delivered relief supplies and helped provide meals. Development Officer of American Red Cross, Victoria Ten Broeck, said there are never enough volunteers for disasters like this one.
"We are always in need of volunteers. Whether that be our five lines of service, blood line, international service, service armed forces or disaster. A lot of people think that American Red Cross just does national disasters, but we have one to two house fires every day in our 17 counties. We are always involved and help anyone in need," said Broeck.
