RINCON, GA (WTOC) - The Rincon Kroger Marketplace has celebrated its grand opening.
A ribbon cutting was held Wednesday. The new 120,000 square foot super Kroger replaces the old 44,000 square foot Kroger, which sat across the street on Georgia Highway 21.
This $26 million marketplace is being called state of the art. It features technology and services not available anywhere else.
"To be able to stay in your hometown or in your county, and even pulling from another county in, this has all the offerings to get people in the door with Starbucks, gourmet cheese shop, the deli, the bakery… so all those things are really going to pull people in, and that creates sales, that creates jobs for Effingham and Rincon," said Tom Coburn, general manager for the Rincon Kroger.
It is also only the second Kroger, after last week's new Atlanta area store, to feature Check List pick-up where you can shop from home and pick it up later.
