CCHA, Memorial Health board chairmen met, agree to work together

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

New developments in that ongoing dispute between Memorial Health and the Chatham County Hospital Authority.

A letter from Don Waters, chairman of the Chatham County Hospital Authority and Harry Haslam, the chairman of the Memorial Health University Medical Center board, was sent to the WTOC newsroom. Stating that they met Thursday and agreed to work together to resolve differences and jointly develop a solution to move the community forward to meet health needs.

You might remember last Tuesday Memorial Health's Board of Directors voted to move forward in the search for a financial partner without*the Chatham County Hospital Authority. This comes after Novant Health backed out of its $600 million proposal because they said the Hospital Authority was overstepping its boundaries.
