Five arrest warrants have been issued for the murder of 30-year-old Tony Overstreet, Jr. who was found shot near the intersection of East 11th and North Ware streets in Alma Saturday, June 18.
Alma Police responded to a shots fired call at the intersection around 10:30 Friday night and found an abandoned rental vehicle. The officers could not locate the driver and took the car into police custody.
Overstreet, Jr.’s body was then found Saturday morning by a family member.
He was pronounced dead at the scene from apparent gunshot wounds, and his body was transferred to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
The police along with GBI agents issued warrants for five individuals Wednesday.
Felony murder and armed robbery are among the charges for 24-year-old Pierre Alston, 20-year-old Jerome Maxwell and 21-year-old Keitric McCaskey.
Alston and Maxwell were arrested and are currently being held at Bacon and Ware county jails, respectively. McCaskey was arrested on Monday, June 27 in Jesup. Jesup Police Department officers stopped a vehicle on U.S. Highway 84 South and found McCaskey in the vehicle.
20-year-old's Lataysha Morgan and Nyiesha Nails are also being charged with the concealment of facts. Both are at the Bacon County Jail, as well.
