18 Cheetahs Qualify For AAU Junior National Olympics

The Savannah Chatham Silver Cheetahs hosted and competed in the Amateur Athletic Union Track and Field Regional 8 Qualifier. Twenty five athletes from the Savannah Chatham Silver Cheetahs competed in Savannah, Georgia against multiple track and field teams from Georgia and Florida. If the athletes were placed in the top 6 for track events or in the top 5 for field events this weekend, they qualified to compete in the Amateur Athletic Union Junior National Olympics in Humble, Texas, at the end of July and early August of 2016.

 At the end of the meet on Sunday afternoon, the following 18 athletes for the Savannah Chatham Silver Cheetahs qualified for the AAU Junior National Olympics in Humble, Texas:

1.       Darius Scott in Triple Jump

2.       Andre Jeff for 400 Meter Dash

3.       Brandon Selders for High Jump

4.       Michael Gray for Javelin

5.       Merritt Whiddon for Discus and Javelin

6.       Nysha Jordan for Pentathlon, 200 Meter Hurdles, Long Jump, and High Jump

7.       Stokes Hagan for Javelin

8.       Lucy Hagan for 1500 Meter Racewalk and High Jump

9.       Teliyah Jackson for 80 Meter Hurdles

10.   Mariah Ogden for Shot Put

11.   Malaysia Jordan for Shot Put

12.   Faith Washington for Long Jump

13.   Patience Washington for 400 Meter Dash

14.   Tamia Campbell for Long Jump

15.   Dimaia Campbell for Shot Put and 1500 Meter Racewalk

16.   Gabriel Hagan for 1500 Meter Racewalk and Turbo Javelin

17.   Mariah Logan for Long Jump, 400 Meter Dash, and 800 Meter Run

18.   Ivey Hall for Shot Put, 100 Meter Dash, and 400 Meter Dash Finals
