After the shootings of this week, many in our community are gathering to show their support for those who lost their lives.
The following is a list of memorial events happening in Savannah and the Lowcountry on Sunday night:
Black Lives Matter Savannah:
Hosting a memorial followed by a march around downtown Savannah for recent shooting victims.
"Our meeting will be a memorial of the recent lives lost, mourning prayer, a message, and a call to immediate action."
Vigil starts at 6:30 p.m. in Forsyth Park
Hosting an emergency community meeting at the First African Baptist Church on Montgomery Street at 5 p.m.
"A progressive meeting to identify and move forward solutions that will strengthen our community"
First Presbyterian Church in Hilton Head Island:
First Presbyterian Church is holding a community prayer vigil at Veterans Memorial Park at Shelter Cove at 7 p.m.
Event to honor the memories of those killed in Baton Rouge, Minneapolis and Dallas
"Let's come together as a community to lament the violence and the heartache and promote racial reconciliation. The prayer vigil will be about 30 minutes long, and will be led by local faith and community leaders. Bring a lawn chair for seating."
Community Prayer Vigil in Bluffton:
The Bluffton Police Department is asking everyone to come out as a community to pray for all the lives that have been lost in the last few days.
