MPC open houses to discuss ‘Comprehensive Plan’

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Savannah's Metropolitan Planning Commission is hosting two open houses on Thursday.

They are asking for your feedback on the Comprehensive Plan project. It was completed back in 2006, with the last revisions made in 2012.

So now in 2016, MPC members say it is time again for an update.

The Comprehensive Plan is used to help shape the community by identifying issues, opportunities and priorities.

"We're really trying to focus on some new components and get in crime and health as well as sea level rise and land-use efforts. But the real big difference I think with this particular update is the outreach component. We're really trying to pull in other neighborhoods, nonprofit groups, grassroots organizations to get input from them as well," said Jackie Jackson, MPC.

The MPC open house is Thursday at two different times. First, from 10 a.m. to noon and then again from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Both at the MPC Hearing Room on East State Street.
