REIDSVILLE, GA (WTOC) - A Tattnall County man on the run from authorities now faces formal charges after an off-road wreck and fight this week.
It sounds like the plot to a bad movie. One man's fight with relatives and neighbors leads to him on the run from the law and hiding in the woods.
Investigators say Michael Grovenstein got into an argument and the other person tried to ride away on an all-terrain cart. But they say Grovenstein jumped on and started punching the driver and causing the cart to wreck - sending three people to the hospital.
He took off running into the woods. He showed up at a home on the other side of the woods. He asked to use the phone.
When some people who knew about the wreck got there, they tried to detain him and another fight started. At least two of them got hurt and had to go to the hospital.
Grovenstein again fled and has been hiding ever since. Investigators say they need the public's help to catch this man.
"Please keep your doors and windows locked, keep your cars locked with the keys kept inside. If you see him, call the sheriff's office. Don't try to catch him by yourself," said Tattnall County Sheriff's Office Lt. Justin Kirkland.
Kirkland says Grovenstein already faces three felony counts from the wreck alone, with more likely from the fight.
