SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Change is coming to one Chatham County intersection many of you may cross every day.
County officials hope to soon begin work on building a roundabout to replace the intersection of Laroche Avenue and Jasmine Avenue - along with Livingston Avenue --all near Savannah Christian Middle School.
Tuesday, they held an open house to get feedback from everyone in the community on the proposed project.
Officials say this change is necessary to keep everyone safe on the road there.
"It's very inefficient and potentially dangerous. There's more of a potential for accidents in those types of intersections. Statistically speaking, a roundabout is much safer," said Project Manager Jeremy Mitchler.
Organizers say they received a lot of feedback that they will take into consideration.
No start date has been set yet for the project.
