GLENNVILLE, GA (WTOC) -

A delicious dessert Thursday can help children who need medical care.

Buy a Blizzard at your local DQ and the money helps the Children's Miracle Network.

The DQ in Glennville hopes to retain the title as the biggest fundraiser in the nation. Last year, they raised more than $30,000 for CMN. That benefits The Children's Hospital at Memorial in Savannah.

It has become a community-wide tradition, the owner hopes to continue.

"It’s great because we have gotten some of our own children from the community, they have life-threatening services from us and now they are healthy and they are happy as can be and we can just see those foods- like all the hard work and it's just unbelievable. It makes us feel great,” said Zuber Malek, franchise owner of the DQ in Glennville.

Participating DQ's each have their own promotions - like local celebrities and others behind the counter to raise as much money as possible. One hundred percent of each Blizzard sold goes to CMN.
