Police Nab Two of Three Burglary Suspects

Some vigilant work by Pooler police have two burglary suspects in custody after a break-in at a business, for the second time within 24 hours.

A Pooler officer was watching the area near Hendrix Machinery, Inc., at Old Dean Forest and Raymond Roads. He spotted a van and three people trying to take a riding lawn mower about 2am this morning.

The suspects ran, but the officer caught a woman and a Savannah-Chatham K-9 officer caught up with a male suspect. The suspect was bitten by the dog during a short chase.

Officers were keeping an eye on the business because someone broke in trying to steal a riding mower overnight Saturday.

The male suspect was taken to Memorial Health for treatment of a dog bite. Both suspects were taken to the Chatham County jail with burglary and other charges pending.

Police are still looking for the third suspect.
