EEE virus detected in horse, mosquitos

EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - A virus called Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) has been detected in a horse in Effingham County.

In Chatham County, it's been detected in the mosquito population.

The virus causes swelling of the brain and poses a significant risk to both horses and humans.
