Metro police investigating homicide at Lamarville Park

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department is investigating a homicide at Lamarville Park located at the ACL Boulevard and Adams Avenue.

Malik Jackson, 18, was found shot at the park just before 3 p.m. on Monday. He later died from his injuries.

Witnesses told police they heard an argument, followed by a gunshot.

"We understand that there were people in the area. I don't know if they heard or saw anything, but there have been individuals talking to police, trying to get more information, but at this point, no one is in custody,” said SCMPD Public Information Officer Michelle Gavin.

Jackson was a 2016 graduate of Beach High School.

The incident remains under investigation.
