SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

On Tuesday, two memoranda of understandings were signed between Armstrong State University and Ogeechee Technical College.

The signings ultimately create a bridge between the Criminal Justice and Information Technology programs at both schools. So students graduating from Ogeechee Tech with a 2-year degree can transfer to Armstrong as a junior.

"We call it a 2+2 program, so pretty much you do two years at Ogeechee Tech & then transfer to Armstrong to finish your two years to earn your Bachelor's Degree, said Ogeechee Technical College Acting President Lori Durden.

"This allows that student to say 'I'm ready' and essentially walk in the door here at Armstrong and say 'I'm ready for my junior year, let's go', said Armstrong State President Linda Bleicken.

Back in June, Armstrong signed a memorandum of understanding with the U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence at Fort Gordon.
