JESUP, GA (WTOC) -

A Jesup congregation is still reeling after fire destroyed their building on Sunday.

We showed you the damage to New Life Pentecostal Church. On Monday, Bureau WTOC headed back to see how the pastor and his flock are coping with the loss.

The smoke may have disappeared, but the questions still remain. You can see where the second floor of the church just burned straight down to the first. As investigators still try to figure out a cause, the pastor and congregation hope to move forward.

The congregation at New Life Pentecostal Church already had a place Monday morning for them to worship this Sunday.

"Got a phone call that they're going to open up the Jesup Train Depot to us this Sunday for free. It's a place we can congregate and meet and figure out where we go from there,” said Pastor Justin Drawdy.

A fire Sunday afternoon destroyed their sanctuary and other meeting rooms in the building they've been renting. The fire leaves Drawdy and others looking for where and how they'll worship after this next Sunday.

"We have nothing left, no microphones and no keyboards. What we have left is each other,” said Drawdy.

He's grateful to fire crews who worked Sunday and those who've offered help. He's quick to correct anyone who says "the church" is gone.

“What's behind us isn't the church. We are the church,” Drawdy said.

He says anyone that wants to come worship with them Sunday at the depot is more than welcomed.
