Are you ready for some good news right now? I know I am.
Shauna Hutcheson loves to race. Despite dealing with Turret's syndrome, ADD and other issues, she’s proven to be a world champion Super Kid after winning her age bracket at the soap box derby.
This week Shauna was presented with her world championship trophy, jacket and ring. Her mom praises organizers and the local people who made her daughter feel a part of the team.
Also this week, Dr. Eugene Nwosu got a huge helping hand from the St. Joseph/ Candler Health System.
In a few months, he's going back to Nigeria to expand his Goodness and Mercy Foundation medical clinic in his home village and he’ll be taking more than $100,000 worth of supplies donated to his mission by St. Joseph/Candler.
And finally this week, we congratulate Bill Gillespie, Maynard Peloke and Craig Hornick for receiving the Civilian Award of Commendation from the Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department.
The three were honored for their heroic action in two separate incidents, one involving a disturbance at a Starbucks, the other a purse snatching. Our gratitude goes out to all three for being good citizens and great neighbors.
