First week of school celebrated at annual Ask beach bash.

TYBEE ISLAND, GA (WTOC) - Armstrong State University's annual beach bash.

Students celebrating the first week of school over on Tybee Island. This is the 26th year for fun with games, food, prizes and an on-site DJ.

"Every year after the first week of class- on the first Friday of classes- we bring our students out to celebrate being back in class. We give them some free food, some free tank tops," said Dean of Students Kate Steiner.

"We represent Sigma Chi Delta, we're a new fraternity on campus trying to get new students and people to come and join us because we're a great fraternity. We love people. We love the campus, we love everything it's about," said Randall Giles and Deyonte Daniels, both ASU students.

Because of the school's student growth, this year's bash was moved to Marlin Monroe's, right on the water.
