The night manager of a Savannah McDonald's has been released from a hospital after being shot over the weekend. Kerry Benett was shot in the wrist during a robbery attempt at the fast food restaurant on Wilmington Island Saturday night.
Police say he and another employee were walking to their cars when a gunman jumped out and forced them back inside the store. Benett and the robber fought over the gun and both were shot.
The suspect, identified as Cole McEachern, is listed in fair condition at Memorial Health. Charges against him are still pending.
