Power restored after tractor-trailer fire on Grange Road in Port Wentworth

PORT WENTWORTH, GA (WTOC) -

About 100 Georgia Power customers in Garden City, Pooler and Port Wentworth were still without power Wednesday morning after a tractor-trailer clipped a power line and caught fire Tuesday night.

A tractor-trailer caught on fire on Grange Road near U.S. Highway 21 in Port Wentworth. The truck hit electrical wires and caught fire, according to Pooler Fire Chief Wade Simmons.

Grange Road was closed for about two hours due to the incident, but it has since reopened.

There is no word on the condition of the driver involved.  

Power was completely restored by 10 a.m. Wednesday.
