BULLOCH CO., GA (WTOC) -

The storm has communities across our region bracing for this storm.

Officials with Bulloch County Emergency Services are watching the forecasts and what they're seeing in Florida. Plus, we got a small taste Thursday afternoon of what we could see through the night and on Friday.

“Our heavy equipment's going to be ready. We're going to be ready to get out and get to work as soon as we can and as soon as it's safe. But the water's got to go down before you can do that,” said Public Safety Director Ted Wynn.

A lot of the focus is on dirt roads in the area that are prone to washing out.

"We're just encouraging people to be ready to hunker down where they are. Even if your road washes out, we'll get to you if we have to," Wynn said.

Wynn met with county leaders from utilities to schools and public safety teams to make sure everyone is ready and knows the plan.
