HANAHAN, SC (WCSC) -

A man has been charged with driving under the influence after his car was involved in a crash with an Amtrak train near Hanahan late Sunday night.

Officials with the Hanahan Police Department say Hung Tran was able to get out of his car before Amtrak Auto Train 52 hit it on railroad tracks near Northwoods Mall and Eagle Landing Boulevard.

Officials say his car was stopped on the tracks.

Tran, 54, had a blood alcohol content level of .15 percent, according to Lt. Michael Fowler. The legal limit is .08 percent.

Amtrak spokeswoman Christina Leeds told The Associated Press there were no injuries to the train's passengers or crew and that the train was delayed for three hours before continuing north. She says the collision happened at 11:05 p.m.
