STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) - Georgia Southern has unveiled a work of art that they hope will continue to teach art students for years to come.
Two student-artists unveiled their work as part of the Eagle Nation on Parade project. Howard Lumber and Hardware commissioned their second eagle. This one shows the family's contribution to the local timber industry and community over the past 118 years.
"The Howards have been supporters of the university and the community as well as the ENOP project, Eagle Nation on Parade," said Prof. Robert Farber, GSU Fine Arts Department.
The money raised by this project will go to art scholarships for students. Professor Farber says they have three Eagles available for commission.
