CANDLER CO., GA (WTOC) -

Two communities have joined together to help the families of fallen law officers.

More than 100 golfers from Bulloch and Candler counties took part in the 9th Annual Wilbur Berry Memorial Golf Tournament. Berry was a Bulloch County deputy and Candler resident that was killed in the line of duty in 2001. Money that is raised will go to help the Georgia Chapter of COPS - Concerns of Police Survivors.

“Georgia COPS helps our surviving family members. It offers counseling to kids, a kid’s camp. It offers seminars for the spouses,” said Lt. Bobby Durden, with the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office.

Durden and other organizers expect the tournament to raise more than $20,000.
