BRYAN CO., GA (WTOC) -

The 2016 Bryan County United Way campaign kicked off on Tuesday.

A luncheon was held at the Richmond Hill City Center. The event hosted by WTOC's own John Wetherbee.

"Basically the United Way has is the connector. We're all about connecting with the resources, with the people and putting them together and getting people in a place better than where they came from,” said Bryan County Board Member Byron Atkinson.

This year's goal: $150,000. That's almost double last year's goal of $86,000.
