Three men are safely on dry land this morning after they had to be rescued by the Coast Guard yesterday when their boat started sinking.
The fishing boat started taking on water and sinking very quickly off the coast of Georgetown, South Carolina. At first, rescue crews say they were worried because they saw rescue suits floating near the wreckage, but luckily all the men were in the life raft.
"Our heart stopped for a second, because we saw them in the water, but they were just empty drifting away," said Lt. Cmdr. Todd Styrwold.
The rescue crew decided that since there was a Coast Guard boat close enough, they wouldn't need to put a diver in the water but they stayed around just in case.
