FORT STEWART (WTOC) - A Fort Stewart Brigade has concluded the end of its mission trip in Europe with a casing ceremony.
The 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team of the 3rd Infantry Division casing its colors in Germany. The soldiers have been conducting multinational exercises across 12 countries since last March.
Among many things, the brigade supported Operation Atlantic Resolve, an effort demonstrating the U.S. commitment to NATO security.
"I can't imagine that there's a formation anywhere on the planet that is more well-trained than you are right now, but especially in operating in a complex environment with allies and partners," said Commanding General LTG Ben Hodges, U.S. Army Europe.
"At the platoon and company level, these soldiers have become more and more confident and I would put them against any brigade in the Army," said COL Phil Brooks, Commander of 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd ID.
Soldiers will finish returning home to Fort Stewart by mid-October.
