BLOOMINGDALE, GA (WTOC) -

Bloomingdale residents continuing to fight back against new development.

Many, opposing construction of a proposed 320-unit apartment complex, the “Meadows of Bloomingdale.”

In July, the proposal was turned down but Thursday night, it was back up for review at the council meeting.

Developers are now requesting conditional use for the complex, saying they've listened to the original concerns and made changes.

Residents though tell us this is something they will never want built.

"Everybody else I've talked to, for one reason or another, and all good reasons, have said they're just not for it. We live here because of the way this town is and we don't want to see it changed,” said Billy Strozier, the former Bloomingdale mayor and a longtime resident.

If approved, the Meadows project would be located off of Highway 80. The new gated community plan includes apartments along with 15 single-family homes.
