SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A lot of new businesses opening in Savannah this week.

Friday, Imperial Frozen Foods held its ribbon cutting ceremony. The building is on Eli Whitney Boulevard.

It's actually the company's first facility.

If you've heard of Imperial before, it's because they were using contract packers all throughout the U.S. The CEO tells us having the first facility in Savannah is great for the company and for the community.

"Our ultimate search was to be near a port. The port of Savannah is something that I think Savannah can be very proud of. We are and we're new. But we're located about six miles, seven miles from the port,” said Imperial Frozen Foods CEO Kevin Migdal.

The CEO says along with the new facility comes 52 jobs. Imperial hopes to continue to expand, ultimately opening up two more locations in other towns.
