CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - For the first time since learning that the Georgia Supreme Court reversed the decision that temporarily took away Chatham County Recorder's Court Chief Judge Tammy Stokes' administrative responsibilities, we are hearing from the attorney representing her.
Charles Bowen filed several appeals to the move to suspend Stokes' administrative duties made by Chatham County Superior Court judges last week.
Bowen says the order only delayed Judge Stokes' investigation into several human resources complaints within her office, which should be completed any day.
"There is no question that she is operating as the Chief Judge of the Recorder's Court of Chatham County in every manner in which that entails. It also means that she has full authority to finally complete her investigation into the two HR complaints that began this whole process months ago," said Bowen.
Once the investigation into the HR complaints is finished, Bowen says he plans to hold a news conference to reveal its findings.
