CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - In light of all the violence going on across the country, concerned clergy in Statesboro brought together the community and law enforcement to bridge the gap.
The all day event, which took place on Saturday, included a question and answer forum between residents and the Statesboro Police Department.
Organizers say it's about getting a better understanding of one another.
"It's important for the community to get out...all over our nation," said Paul Johnson, the event organizer.
Interim Chief Bryant emphasized the fact that his officers do almost triple the amount of deadly force training than what's required by the state, and body cameras in Statesboro are almost ready to be placed on their uniforms.
