The Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra and the City of Savannah Department of Cultural Affairs are holding their annual celebration on Sunday, Picnic in the Park!
Enjoy fantastic music and family fun at fabulous Forsyth Park. The event is free and open to the public.
Picnic in the Park celebrates National Arts and Humanities Month by featuring beautiful repertoire performed by the Philharmonic Orchestra. Pre-concert performances will include students from Savannah-Chatham Public Schools and other area schools. The Army's 3rd ID Color Guard is also excited to make an appearance.
This year’s theme, “Under the Stars and Stripes,” was chosen through a Facebook contest, and was submitted by winner Wallace Blackstock.
This year's event will take place on Sunday, Oct. 2 from 4 to 9:30 p.m. at the Forsyth Park Bandshell. Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic, as well as participate in the patriotic themed picnic table contest. The first, second and third-place picnic table contest winners will win $500, $250 and $100 Parker’s cards.
Parker's is the presenting sponsor, and WTOC is a proud media sponsor of this event. For more information about the event, please visit the Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra or the City of Savannah’s Dept. of Cultural Affairs.
