There’s plenty of good news to share.
We start this week with a local photographer who is being recognized on the international level for her work.
Megan Myrick of Richmond Hill just had four of her images chosen for international honors.
She is just one of 97 people from about 6,000 entries from around the world to have all four photos chosen. Her work will be on display in Texas in January. Taking pictures is her life's passion, and so is giving back to the community. She regularly raises money through photo shoots to help local organizations, like One Love Animal Rescue in Savannah.
Nearly 100 golfers gathered Wednesday to raise money for the Frank Callen Boys and Girls Club in the inaugural Fore the Kids Golf Outing.
All the money raised from the fundraiser will go to the Frank Callen Boys and Girls Club's after-school programs to give local children a safe place to go after school.
And finally, some local stars in Savannah lit up the dance stage at the Lucas Theatre this week.
Leaders in the community showed off their talents in the 9th Annual Dancing with Savannah Stars. The competition and fundraiser brings in money for CASA - Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children. The group makes sure children who have been abused or neglected have someone who best represents their interests in court.
They had a goal of raising $100,00 this year, and like the dancers on the stage, they hit their mark.
