They're making plans and honoring people who help the King-Tisdell Cottage. They kicked off the planning and preparation for the annual awards banquet at a First City Club luncheon today. They recognized five special people for excellence in education, fine arts and public service.
The big event, King-Tisdell's awards banquet, keeps the project financially afloat.
"This is a major fundraiser and it goes to keeping the cottage operational for education and keeping the doors open," said foundation chairman Larry Chisholm. "We need this as it is the biggest fundraiser of the year."
They use the money to fund their lecture series and exhibits. The annual banquet is in October.
